Offshore staff

BERGEN, Norway – GC Rieber Shipping has completed a transaction with Rasmussengruppen announced last October to establish the jointly owned marine geophysical company Shearwater GeoServices.

The new contractor is an integrated provider of marine geophysical services to oil and gas and multi-client companies worldwide, with a fleet of four modern, high capacity seismic vessels as well and processing centers in the UK, US, and India.

In addition, subsidiary company Open Geophysical Inc. provides OpenCPS seismic processing software to the oil and gas industry.

Since the contractor was formed, it has already secured new contracts for marine acquisition, processing and imaging and software, with two of the four vessels in operation on closure of the transaction.
