KØPERVIK, Norway – Norwegian gas trunklines operator Gassco delivered record volumes from fields offshore Norway to European customers last year.

In 2016, Gassco dispatched 108.56 bcm to receiving terminals in Germany, Belgium, France, and the UK.

In 2015, 108.44 bcm were exported from the Norwegian continental shelf to European buyers via these four countries.

Average regularity for the transport system during 2016 was 99.71%, compared with 99.38% the year before.

Deliveries of natural gas liquids and condensate from the Gassco-operated process plants at Kårstø and Kollsnes (via Vestprosess) in western Norway increased last year 10 MM metric tons, compared with 9.6 MM metric tons in 2015.

Gassco CEO Frode Leversund said: “Deliveries show that European demand for Norwegian gas is higher than ever. It’s also gratifying that we’ve been able to set a new record in a year characterized by extensive maintenance work.”
