TEHRAN, Iran – Gas has begun flowing from phases 20 and 21 of the South Pars field development in the Persian Gulf, according to news service Shana.

Currently the facilities are delivering 28 MMcm/d, said project official Ali-Reza Ebadi.

Sour gas produced from platform 21 currently heads ashore for sweetening before entering Iran’s domestic grid.

This latest development has lifted production capacity from South Pars to more than 515 MMcm/d, Shana added.
