LONDONEni and the Rabat Deep partnership will likely drill the 768-MMbbl offshore JP-1 prospect in early 2018, according to Chariot Oil & Gas.

The planned well could also de-risk the adjacent Mohammedia offshore exploration permits I-III, which Chariot operates with a 75% interest.

Here JP-2 and other structures in the shallower Lower Cretaceous play could hold combined resources of 1 Bbbl.

Chariot will acquire 3D seismic early next year to investigate the extension of the Lower Cretaceous play into a region with no current seismic coverage.

Offshore Namibia, 2,600 sq km (1,004 sq mi) of newly processed 3D data over the offshore central blocks 2312 and 2412A are undergoing interpretation.

Chariot’s initial evaluation has confirmed the potential, and plans to seek partners for the blocks during 2017.

Offshore Brazil, proprietary acquisition and processing has finished of the 775 sq km (299 sq mi) of 3D data across Chariot’s four concessions.

The ongoing technical evaluation will focus on describing reservoir distribution and identifying key prospects in light of upcoming exploration programs elsewhere in the Barreinhas region.

Chariot expects to start a partner search during the second half of 2017, after completion of interpretation.
