Oceaneering expands AUV services into West Africa

HOUSTONOceaneering International Inc. is expanding its presence for autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) survey services to the West African region.

The company currently serves the US Gulf of Mexico with a fleet of commercial AUVs, designed for high-resolution survey operations in water depths reaching 4,500 m (14,763 ft).

It is mobilizing one of its 3,000-m (9,842-ft)-rated AUVs, which is capable of performing deepwater geophysical hazard and pipeline inspection surveys. This unit provides clients with the necessary deepwater survey capabilities for pipeline surveys, as-built surveys, block surveys, and pipeline inspections, Oceaneering said.
