Topaz to manage trans-Caspian Tengiz oil field shipments

DUBAI, UAETopaz Energy and Marine has secured various contracts with a total value of more than $500 million in connection with the Tengiz oil field development in Kazakhstan.

Under the terms of the main contract awarded by Tengizchevroil to a consortium comprising Topaz and Blue Water Shipping, Topaz will commission the construction of 15 module carrying vessels (MCVs), which it will own and operate.

These will start work in 2Q 2018 for a minimum contract period of three years, transporting oil and gas modules across the Caspian Sea to the Tengiz oil field from transshipment bases in Kazakhstan.

Topaz has also been appointed the technical manager of three additional MCVs by a consortium comprising Blue Water Shipping A/S and Kazmortransflot.
