Offshore staff

SINGAPORE – Keppel FELS has delivered the newbuild accommodation semisubmersible Floatel Triumph to Floatel International.

The rig, built to Keppel’s proprietary SSAU 5000NG design, will work for Chevron at the Wheatstone field offshore Western Australia.

The Floatel Triumph is scheduled to arrive at the field location in mid-October. Thereafter, it will transfer to INPEX’s Ichthys field development.

SSAU 5000NG is said to be an enhanced design that meets strict HSE requirements for operations in the UK North Sea, Gulf of Mexico, Brazil, and Western Australia. It can accommodate 500 crew members.

Previously Keppel FELS delivered the Floatel Superior, Floatel Reliance, Floatel Victory, and Floatel Endurance. The Floatel Reliance and Floatel Victory are also built to the SSAU design while the Floatel Superior and Floatel Endurance are built to Keppel’s proprietary DSS 20NS design.

The Floatel Victory is currently operating for BP at the Clair Ridge field, west of Shetland.
