Lamprell ships latest jackup to Shelf Drilling

SHARJAH, UAELamprell has completed construction of the Shelf Chaopraya jackup drilling rig, ordered by Shelf Drilling.

In the next few days the rig will sail away to perform its first program, offshore Thailand.

This is a LeTourneau Super 116E (Enhanced) Class design, which according to Lamprell, features high specification offshore drilling technology, as well as accommodation for up to 160 people.

The fabricator has now delivered 16 newbuild Super 116E jackups.

CEO Jim Moffat said: “This is…the second major project that we have delivered in a matter of weeks.”
