Eni commissions subsea multi-phase boosting spread for deepwater Angola development

Offshore staff

HOUSTONFMC Technologies will supply subsea multi-phase boosting pumps, manifolds, and installation support services to Eni’s deepwater block 15/06 West Hub development project offshore Angola.

This is FMC’s second award for its new subsea multi-phase boosting system. The pumps are said to improve production economics by reducing backpressure on the reservoir, increasing flow rates and total recoverable reserves.

They also have a wide operating envelope and are claimed to be suitable for a broad range of conditions.

Eni’s partners are Sonangol Pesquisa e Produção and SSI Fifteen.
