Chariot pursuing drillable leads in South Atlantic

LONDON Chariot Oil & Gas has issued an update on technical programs at its blocks offshore Namibia and Brazil.

Earlier this year, a 2,600-sq km (1,004-sq mi) 3D seismic program was completed over the company’s operated Central blocks off Namibia.

This was over the western flank of the license on the outboard high, covering leads identified by the 2015 2D seismic survey.

Early processed results have confirmed the potential of the 085b lead from the 2D survey, and the previously developed Prospect B and Prospect D.

After completion of processed and interpretation (following receipt of the pre-stack depth migrated data), Chariot will look to bring in an additional partner to drill.

Over the company’s operated Southern blocks, the ION NamibiaSPAN 2D seismic survey and other technical studies have revealed a high risk but material gas prospect, AO1, with prospective resources of more than 10 tcf.

Again, the search is under way to add another partner.

Off northeast Brazil, acquisition finished in March of around 775 sq km (299 sq mi) of 3D seismic covering the company’s four licenses.

Early processed products display clear turbidite reservoir geometries extending from the shallow-water Chariot licenses down-dip into the neighboring block to the north.

Here there is a drilling commitment which will serve as a test of the petroleum system in this part of the basin.

Chariot plans to seek a partner for drilling after completion 3D interpretation.
