ABERDEEN, UKEnerMech is close to completing a £5 million-plus ($6.58-million) contract to support the turret delivery team for BP’s Glen Lyon FPSO, which has arrived for hookup operations at the offshore location west of Shetland.

The vessel is part of the Quad204 project, which involves redeveloping the Schiehallion and Loyal fields to extend production out to 2035 or beyond.

EnerMech provided winch engineering, associated operations and materials for the FPSO’s main turret system riser winch handling system while the Glen Lyon was under construction.

Ongoing support during the hookup phase will continue into 2017.

In 2014 EnerMech also supported BP in preparation and operation of the former FPSO Schiehallion’s riser winch system during the field suspension and vessel removal phase.
