Keppel AmFELS completes Pemex jackup

Offshore staff

SINGAPORE -- Keppel AmFELS LLC has delivered the newbuild KFELSB jackup Uxpanapa to Mexico's Central Panuco S.A. De C.V. (Central Panuco).

The rig was named yesterday at Keppel AmFELS' yard in Brownsville, Texas.

It is the the fifth jackup built by Keppel AmFELS for owner Perforadora Central and the second based on the company’s proprietary KFELS B Class design following the Tonala, delivered to Perforadora Central in 2004.

Pemex will charter Uxpanapa for work offshore Mexico. Keppel AmFELS previously built two 220-man accommodation modules for the operator in 2006, and over the years has repaired and serviced 18 rigs chartered by Pemex for various drilling contractors.
