Det norske contains North Sea Alvheim leak

TRONDHEIM, NorwayDet norske oljeselskap has halted a hydrocarbon leak in the pump room on the Alvheim FPSO in the Norwegian North Sea.

The incident yesterday morning triggered a gas alarm and all production was stopped immediately.

Det norske mobilized its offshore and onshore emergency response organization, but the crew on the FPSO managed to stop the leak after a short period of time, with no discharge into the sea.

The company expects production to be back to normal shortly.
