Mermaid charters DSV for subsea duty offshore Indonesia

BANGKOK, ThailandMermaid Maritime subsidiary PT Seascape Surveys has agreed to a one-year charter with PT Nusa Perkasa Permai for the DP-2 dive support vessel Mermaid Nusantara.

The vessel, ex-Windermere, is expected to be delivered to Seascape in August.

It is equipped with a 15 man built-in saturation diving system and air diving system, 120 beds, and a 50-ton crane.

The vessel will perform inspection, repair, and maintenance as well as saturation diving for construction support, ongoing field maintenance and call-out repair.

Mermaid had chartered the vessel last year to support various subsea projects. The company anticipates sustained demand for subsea services in Indonesia and the rest of Southeast Asia.

There is an option to extend the charter through July 2018.
