Integrated FPSO departs BrasFELS for Lapa field

Offshore staff

SINGAPORE – Keppel FELS Brasil’s BrasFELS shipyard has completed integration works on the FPSO Cidade de Caraguatatuba MV27 for MODEC Offshore Production Systems (Singapore).

The vessel arrived at BrasFELS from Singapore during 2Q, having earlier undergone first-phase integration works at Keppel Shipyard.

Following completion of BrasFELS’ scope of work, the vessel was towed offshore to support Petrobras’ operations on the Lapa (ex-Carioca) oil field in the Santos basin.

This is the fourth MODEC FPSO to undergo integration and completion works at BrasFELS since 2012. All four projects were completed ahead of schedule.

FPSO Cidade de Caraguatatuba MV27 has an oil processing capacity of up to 100,000 b/d, gas processing of up to 177 MMcf/d, and oil storage capacity of 1.6 MMbbl.

BrasFELS and MODEC are already collaborating on a fifth project concerning the FPSO Cidade de Campos dos Goytacazes MV29.

Here BrasFELS is responsible for fabrication and integration of nine topsides production modules. The vessel is expected to arrive at the shipyard by 1Q 2017.
