LONDONIndependent Oil and Gas is in talks with Alpha Petroleum Resources on acquiring the remaining 50% of a license covering blocks 48/22b and 48/23a in the UK southern North Sea.

This includes the Blythe gas discovery, which IOG aims to develop.

Following completion of financing transactions with London Oil & Gas, IOG has decided to pursue an acquisition strategy focusing on complementary near-term oil and gas developments and low risk production assets in the North Sea.

However, the company will also consider opportunities outside the region.
