Songa Encourage starts drilling at Skuld offshore Norway

LIMASSOL, Cyprus – The newbuild Category D semisubmersible Songa Encourage has started an eight-year drilling contract with Statoil on the Norwegian continental shelf.

According to owner Songa Offshore, the rig is now on operational day rate and working at the Skuld field in the North Sea.

This is the third of four Cat D rigs that Statoil commissioned from the contractor.
