Aqualis, CSDC team for offshore facilities engineering

ASKER, NorwayAqualis Offshore has agreed to cooperate with China Ship Design & Research Center Co. (CSDC).

CSDC, which specializes in shipbuilding and offshore engineering services, is a subsidiary of China Shipbuilding Industry Corp. (CSIC).

Aqualis is an offshore marine and engineering consultancy firm focused on shallow and deepwater project support.

The two companies will collaborate in engineering, project management, research, innovation and marketing, and aim to develop a joint engineering service for offshore newbuild projects in China and elsewhere.

This will apply to jackups, TLPs, spars, semisubmersibles, and FPSOs. The duo will also offer front-end engineering and design services including conceptual design, basic design, and detailed design engineering for transportation and offshore installations of fixed platforms, floating structures, and subsea facilities.

CSIC group has long experience in designing and building production platforms, rigs, modules, and FPSOs for domestic and overseas clients.

Peng Yongfei, Aqualis’ country manager in China, said: “CSDC has a clear advantage that it can provide engineering services to CSIC’s yards in China. We will ensure that we will provide CSDC with competitive offshore engineering competence and capacity whenever it is required.”
