NPD authorizes three wells offshore Norway

OSLO, Norway – The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate has sanctioned two exploration drilling campaigns in the North Sea.

Det norske oljeselskap has authorization to drill appraisal well 16/1-26 S on the 16/1-7 oil discovery, part of the Ivar Aasen field, in block 16/1 in production license 001 B.

The jackup Maersk Interceptor will drill the well, the 15th on the field and the 11th within the license area.

Statoil has permission to drill two wells on block 30/11 in PL 035, using the semisubmersible Songa Delta. The rig will drill wells 30/11-11 S and 30/11-11 B.
