Maintenance issues slow Petrobras’ oil and gas output

RIO DE JANEIROPetrobras’ oil and gas production in January averaged 2.47 MMboe/d in Brazil and 183,000 boe/d overseas.

In Brazil’s offshore presalt province, the company’s total production reached 1.03 MMboe/d while its operated presalt oil output averaged 822,000 b/d.

The company’s overall output in-country in January was 7.1 % down on the previous month, due mainly to scheduled maintenance stoppages at high-production platforms such as P-58 (Parque das Baleias), FPSO Cidade de Mangaratiba (Lula), and P-48 (Barracuda/Caratinga).

Petrobras’ oil production outside Brazil averaged 92,000 b/d in January, 4.2% down on the total for December. One of the main factors was a maintenance program (since concluded) that halted production at the Agbami field offshore Nigeria.

The company’s natural gas production abroad averaged 15.5 MMcm/d, 4.3% down from the previous month, mostly caused by a stoppage to modify the gas plant serving the Hadrian South field in the Gulf of Mexico.
