Magnolia unveils coiled tubing slip connector

MAGNOLIA, Texas – Magnolia Research & Development LLC has introduced a new way coil connectors are attached to the end of coiled tubing.

Current slip connectors can be difficult to attach and require both wrenches and hammers to lock the connector in place.

Its patent pending Hydraulic Slip Connector (HSC) “quick connector” is an attachment process that eliminates the need for hand tools. The HSC is hydraulically attached via a short hydraulic feed and activated by pressure from either a hand pump or electric pump.

The company says the tool can be made up with the combination pull/plate pressure test sub attached. This allows for pull and then to go straight to pressure test without the need or time to change out multiple test apparatus.
