TEHRAN, Iran – Various international companies are interested in a cooperation with the Khazar Exploration and Production Co. (KEPCO) in its deepwater projects in the Iranian sector of the Caspian Sea, according to news service Shana.

KEPCO acting managing director, Farhang Khatibi, said the opportunity of cooperation with foreign firms should be taken because it may not be repeated.

Planning director of KEPCO, Mehrdad Vahedi, said the company plans to expand its offshore exploration activity and has signed contracts.

The company is working on four exploration, production, and development projects including development of the Sardar Jangal field.

Managing Director Ali Osuli told Shana that KEPCO lacks access to various deepwater drilling technologies and must therefore use the services of foreign companies.
