TOKYO – Japan Oil, Gas and Metals National Corp. (JOGMEC) has signed a two-year extension to an exploration license offshore Seychelles.

The company has been conducting geological and geophysical surveys, including seismic acquisition, with PetroSeychelles since Aug. 30, 2013, under the license granted by the Seychelles government.

Although the program ended last month, the two companies were keen to stage a further survey to complete their evaluation of hydrocarbon potential across the license.

This will now proceed under the joint survey agreement with PetroSeychelles, also extended by two years.
