Fairfield prepares for major North Sea P&A campaign

ABERDEEN, UKFairfield Energy has contracted well management specialist Exceed to support a North Sea well P&A campaign.

Fairfield, operator of the Dunlin complex and associated fields in the UK northern North Sea, plans to permanently P&A 45 platform wells and 16 subsea wells.

Decommissioning of the platform wells will start in the next few months with the operational phase of the subsea wells work due to start in 2017. 

John Anderson, Exceed commercial director, said this would be one of the largest well abandonment campaigns in the UK sector to date.
