THE WOODLANDS, TexasAnadarko’s international E&P thrust this year will concentrate mainly on West and East Africa.

To advance the deepwater Paon oil discovery offshore Côte d’Ivoire, the company has lined up one appraisal well, a drillstem test, and two exploration wells.

Once these activities are completed, the rig will transfer across the Atlantic to conduct additional exploration drilling activities offshore Colombia.

Anadarko expects first oil this summer at the Tullow Oil-operated TEN complex offshore Ghana.

The company anticipates minimal funding this year for its activities offshore Mozambique as it pursues three parallel paths toward a final investment decision for an LNG project for its deepwater gas discoveries.

These comprise securing the necessary legal and contractual framework, progressing more than 8 million metric tons/yr (8.8 million tons/yr) of off-take toward long-term sales contracts, and advancing project financing.
