UK authorizes ownership change for North Sea field cluster

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – Britain’s Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change has authorized the assignment of Shell and ExxonMobil’s interest in the Anasuria cluster of fields in the central North Sea to Anasuria Hibiscus UK and Ping Petroleum UK.

Anasuria Operating Co. will operate the producing Guillemot A, Teal, and Teal South fields, while Ithaca Energy becomes operator of the Cook field.

Approval remains subject to completion of the acquisitions by May 9-11.
