SHEFFIELD, UK Parker Bestobell Marine has completed a contract to supply cryogenic globe and check valves for Hoegh LNG’s series of floating storage regasification units. The FSRUs are being built at Hyundai Heavy Industries’ yard in South Korea.

The valves are a combination of manual, pneumatic, actuated, and check valves in sizes DN15 to DN100. Parker said that the valves had full type approval from the four main classification societies.

Bestobell previously supplied the Excelerate FSRU, which was in place in Brazil to supply gas during the World Cup in 2014. The company also manufactured the same type of valves for the Q-Max-size FSRU being built for Mitsui OSK Lines.
