North Energy gains stakes in undeveloped fields offshore Norway

OSLO, NorwayNorth Energy has completed acquisition of Explora Petroleum for a cash payment of $2.5 million.

Explora had 18 employees and 16 licenses on the Norwegian continental shelf at the date of transaction, including interests in the Skarfjell and Grosbeak discoveries in PL 378 in the northeastern North Sea, 20 km (12.4 mi) southwest of the Gjøa field.

Skarfjell holds an estimated 139 MMboe and Grosbeak 35 MMboe recoverable.
