McDermott progresses offshore Saudi Arabia installations

HOUSTONMcDermott International has issued an update on its offshore construction programs in the Middle East.

The Saudi Aramco Karan 45 project has progressed ahead of schedule and the company has completed the Abu Ali cables project ahead of schedule.

Additionally, McDermott finished the offshore installation scope for Aramco’s Manifa field development project.

Execution has started of a lump-sum project awarded under Aramco’s recently awarded long-term agreement (LTA II). Fabrication of the 12 jackets is on track with three due to be loaded out and installed during the current quarter.

Following load-out and trans-spooling of the 54-mi (87-mi), 115kV submarine composite cable in the area for the Marjan Power Systems project, installation should get under way shortly.
