Golar LNG Partners acquires FSRU Golar Tundra

HAMILTON, BermudaGolar LNG Ltd. has entered into a purchase agreement to sell the Golar Tundra, a floating storage and regasification unit, to Golar LNG Partners LP for $330 million.

In connection with the closing, Golar LNG Partners will receive a daily fee plus operating expenses, aggregating to approximately $2.6 million per month, for Golar LNG’s right to use the FSRU from the date of the closing until the date that the Golar Tundra begins operations under its time charter with West Africa Gas Ltd.

In return, Golar LNG Partners will remit any income received from the FSRU during this period to Golar LNG Ltd. The sale is expected to close next month and the vessel is expected to begin work for West Africa Gas Ltd. at the end of the 2Q 2016.

The sale has been arranged in accordance with the Omnibus Agreement, which regulates Golar LNG’s obligation to offer any vessel on charter for more than five years to Golar LNG Partners.
