GE to provide power components maintenance for SBM floaters

Offshore staff

FLORENCE, ItalyGE Oil & Gas and SBM Offshore have agreed to provide joint global maintenance for SBM’s fleet of FPSOs operating offshore Brazil and West Africa.

This will involve GE providing spare parts, depot overhauls, field services and digital solutions, including remote monitoring and diagnostics, for the company’s aero-derivative gas turbines installed on SBM’s current and future vessels.

The agreement extends to both GE-supplied and non-GE electrical generators, centrifugal compressors, and various auxiliary systems.

GE claims this is the world’s first maintenance agreement for an entire fleet of FPSOs, adding that it should provide SBM’s customers with improved operational performance.
