Chinese rigs to feature RCP well controls

Offshore staff

ABERDEEN, UKRCP has received a $0.67-million contract to supply and install four identical pieces of integrated well control equipment for an unnamed client in Singapore.

These will be installed on new drilling rigs under construction in China, streamlining the well control process with multiple systems essentially integrated into one.

The integrated system will comprise a main hydraulic console with an all-electric remotely operated panel. The latter will be used to operate and control dual choke valves and dual gate valves (with different working pressures), to monitor the liquid seal integrity of the mud gas separator, and to display three pump stroke counts.

RCP based the design layout and component selection on its CE/ATEX-certified choke control console design. It will deliver the equipment over the next six months.
