Offshore staff

OSLO, Norway – Petroleum Safety Authority Norway has sanctioned use of the semisubmersible Bideford Dolphin to drill a side track on the Vigdis field in production license 089 in the North Sea.

Operator Statoil expects the eight-day program to start early next month.

Vigdis is an oil field between Snorre, Statfjord, and Gullfaks in the Tampen area, in a water depth of 280 m (918 ft). The field and nearby discoveries have been developed via seven subsea templates and two satellite wells tied back to Snorre A.
