Outtrim well offshore Australia targets oil extension

Offshore staff

PERTH, AustraliaCarnarvon Petroleum has acquired a 35% interest in retention license TR/3 in the Barrow sub-basin offshore Western Australia.

The acreage includes the Blencathra oil discovery, the WA-155-P permit containing the 1984 Outtrim-1 oil discovery, and WA-486-P.

Operator Quadrant Energy and Carnarvon aim to prove sufficient oil to justify a field development. In mid-year the Noble Tom Prosser will drill the Outtrim East-1 exploratory well, which will investigate the potential for further-oil charged sands to the north and east of Outtrim-1.
