Golar will contribute the floating LNG facilities and technology. Schlumberger, via its special project management division, will provide upstream development experience, resources, and capital.
One aim is to deliver lower-cost LNG production solutions for otherwise uneconomic gas reserves.
Golar LNG claims the agreement will allow gas field owners to reduce risk and help secure financing for projects, accelerating the time taken to bring reserves into production.
The duo expects to announce its first project within the next two months.
