Aramco, PEMEX plan wide-ranging collaboration

DHAHRAN, Saudi ArabiaSaudi Aramco has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with PEMEX, establishing a collaborative framework between the companies.

They will engage in several areas of collaboration and knowledge sharing, including best practices in upstream and downstream operations and related support services.

In addition, the MOU establishes the basis for information exchange on energy efficiency, innovation, and technology development.

Saudi Aramco president and CEO Amin Nasser said: “This MOU will help us identify opportunities to cooperate, and allow us to share best practices in our core business operations and areas like support services.”

PEMEX CEO Emilio Lozoya said: “We both face the same challenges regarding achieving an efficient, safe, and low cost production that should be sustainable at the same time.”

During his visit to Saudi Aramco headquarters, Lozoya visited facilities including the geo-steering center, the Upstream Professional Development Center, and also toured the Manifa offshore field.
