Weather delays start-up at Solan in Shetlands area

Offshore staff

LONDONPremier Oil expects to produce first oil next month from its Solan field development west of Shetland.

Since mid-November, offloading/tanker trials have been completed while commissioning work continues using the Superior flotel.

Preparations have been hampered, however, by a series of storm fronts in the area during November and early December, which impacted bridge connectivity between the flotel and the Solan platform.

In the offshore North Falklands basin, Premier expects results early in the new year from drilling operations in the Isobel-Elaine area.
