UK/Nigeria contractors collaborate on latest deepwater Agbami phase

Offshore staff

LAGOS, Nigeria – Marine Platforms Ltd. (MPL) has contracted Aberdeen-based Project Development International (PDi) to provide technical support for Chevron’s Agbami Phase 3 offshore transport, installation, and pre-commissioning project.

Agbami, in the central Niger Delta off the west coast, is said to be Nigeria’s largest deepwater development.

MPL has chartered the Polar Onyx and hired other project equipment to handle offshore installations and other activities.

PDi individuals, working alongside the MPL engineering team in its Lagos office, will perform project and structural engineering services, installation analysis and offshore support, also supporting pre-commissioning, survey, geotechnical and procurement activity when needed.

The two parties have worked together for more than five years on various projects: previous collaborations included the Agbami and Bonga jumper installations.
