ABERDEEN, UK – Abu Dhabi National Energy Co. PJSC (TAQA) has produced first oil from the Cladhan field in the UK northern North Sea.

Development involved drilling two producer wells and one injector, tied back via subsea facilities to the TAQA-operated Tern Alpha platform.

This was the company’s third new North Sea development and its largest to date.

Cladhan is in 150 m (492 ft) of water northeast of the Shetland Islands and 17.5 km (10.9 mi) southwest of the Tern complex. The field straddles blocks 210/29a and 210/30a.

TAQA’s co-venturers are Sterling Resources (UK) and MOL Group.
