WOERDEN, the Netherlands – SPT Offshore has a letter of intent (LOI) from Kuala Lumpur-based Muhibbah Engineering for the Ophir oil field development offshore Peninsular Malaysia.

The LOI concerns detailed design of the suction pile foundation, design supervision of the jacket, and full transportation and installation of the Ophir wellhead platform.

Ophir Production is developing the field under a risk service contract. Ophir is a joint venture between Octanex NL, Scomi Energy Services, and Petronas subsidiary Vestigo Petroleum.

Development involves three production wells from the wellhead platform and a leased FPSO.

Muhibbah is the EPCIC contractor for the project.

SPT Offshore’s solution comprises a three-legged jacket with an integrated suction pile foundation which will be installed in one piece offshore.
