McDermott, Larsen & Toubro to cooperate for subsea project offshore eastern India

HOUSTONONGC has awarded a consortium of McDermott International and L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering an engineering, procurement, construction, and installation contract for the subsea infrastructure for the Vashishta and S1 development project.

The fields are in 250-700 m (820-2,296 ft) offshore the Amalapuram coast in eastern India.

Scope of work includes supply and installation of various pipeline end terminations and in-line tee structures, a pipeline end manifold structure, rigid jumpers, and about 30 mi (48 km) of umbilicals.

The pipeline scope includes 64 mi (103 km) of 14-in. dual rigid lines extending from the shallow water shore line to the maximum water depth of 2,300 ft (701 m).

McDermott will deploy its modular, portable spoolbase and probably the Derrick Barge 30 and deepwater North Ocean 105 vessels for the installations.
