DEN HELDER, the Netherlands Glomar Shipmanagement has purchased the Fugro Commander, a dynamically positioned shallow draft geotechnical vessel. She will be renamed Glomar Vantage

The vessel will be converted into a diving support vessel with an onboard Seaeye Tiger ROV and two diving LARS systems.

The 57-m x 12-m (187-ft x 40-ft) vessel has a four-point mooring system and has a summer draught of 3.5 m (12 ft).

Glomar Shipmanagement CCO Mark van der Star said: “The Glomar Vantage is a good fit in our fleet to expand our subsea diving and ROV services all over the world. We are in discussion with Fugro to mutually offer the vessel back to the market as geotechnical vessel. Furthermore we will actively promote her in the renewable and oil and gas industry. We strive to exceed our services to provide more value, based on today’s principle of supply and demand.”
