This year EnQuest undertook inspections to establish pipeline and vessel integrity baselines and overhauls and repairs to gas compression trains. As a result, compressor availability rose from 70% to 95% and overall production efficiency was up from around 80% to more than 90%.
In addition, well intervention activities to restore idle wells and optimize existing ones brought a production gain of around 3,000 boe/d.
EnQuest plans further well intervention work and other facilities improvement upgrades. Continuing technical studies will support future drilling, well workover, and water injection projects to further enhance production and ultimate recovery.
The Tanjong Baram field came onstream in June via an unmanned platform with two production wells tied back to the Petronas Carigali-operated West Lutong A complex.
This necessitated changes to the receiving vessel to accommodate higher volumes of liquids in the associated gas, and meant that the field had to be shut in subsequently while the work was completed.
Tanjong Baram was restarted on Aug. 18 and was producing around 1,300 net boe/d in November.
