Delek refutes reported suspension of Israel-Egypt gas talks

TEL AVIV, IsraelDelek Group subsidiaries Avner Oil Exploration Ltd. Partnerships and Delek Drilling have responded to press reports on negotiations to import gas to Egypt from fields offshore Israel.

The reports claim that Egypt’s government has instructed national gas companies Egyptian General Petroleum Corp. and Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Co. to suspend talks following a ruling made in the arbitration proceeding between Israel Electric Corp. and the state companies.

Delek points out that the partnerships in the Leviathan and Tamar projects offshore Israel are not parties to the arbitration proceeding with the two state entities but are negotiating with commercial companies, and these discussions continue.

In addition, the parties will keep working with the competent authorities in the governments of Israel and Egypt to obtain all required approvals concerning agreements to export gas from Israel to Egypt.
