DEA scales back stake in West Nile Delta gas fields

HAMBURG, GermanyDEA Deutsche Erdoel has completed the farm-down of its stake in the BP-operated West Nile Delta project in the Egyptian sector of the Mediterranean Sea.

The West Nile Delta project, designed to develop 5 tcf of gas, is due to start production in 2017. The fields will likely deliver 1.2 bcf/d, equivalent to around 25% of Egypt’s production.

DEA’s share in all West Nile Delta fields is now equalized at 17.25%, following approval from the Egyptian General Petroleum Corp. and the Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum.
