ABERDEEN, UK Bibby Offshore has released an operational update covering activity in both the Gulf of Mexico and the North Sea.

The service provider was granted a multi-million pound contract by BP to replace subsea infrastructure in the UK central North Sea as part of the $1-billion Eastern Trough Area Project (ETAP) Life Extension Project.

ETAP comprises six fields operated by BP (Marnock, Mungo, Machar, Monan, Mirren, and Madoes) and a further three by Shell (Heron, Skua, and Egret). The ETAP Life Extension Project (ELXP) will help secure the future of the fields until 2030 and beyond.

The Bibby Offshore ELXP contract involves installing new subsea control system infrastructure to safeguard power and communication links to ETAP’s Machar, Madoes, and Mirren fields, some 150 mi (241 km) east of Aberdeen.

From April 2016, the company will provide dive support and construction support vessels from its international fleet to deliver services including; umbilical installation, trenching, structure installation and commissioning, through to final survey of the completed work scopes.

It previously undertook subsea intervention work for BP in 2014.

Bibby Offshore Holdings Ltd. said Houston-based subsidiary Bibby Subsea won a decommissioning project in the Gulf of Mexico as part of its strategic alliance with Aqueos Corp.

The work will be undertaken during 1H 2016 and the DSV Bibby Sapphire will relocate to the Gulf of Mexico during December 2015 to work on this project.

As it previously reported in its recent 3Q 2015 results, Bibby Subsea has canceled the charter party for MV Brandon Bordelon in line with the contractual terms and said it has not incurred any penalty from the cancellation notice issued for the vessel.
