PTTEP signs further AUV research agreement

BANGKOK, ThailandPTTEP and Mermaid Maritime Public Co. have signed a memorandum of understanding to cooperate on research and development into autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs).

The goal is to develop a fully functional AUV for offshore petroleum exploration and production activities.

Last year, PTTEP initiated another cooperation in Thailand with the Faculty of Engineering at Kasetsart University, which led to completion of a laboratory-scaled prototype AUV.
