McDermott installs PB Litoral structures offshore Mexico

HOUSTONMcDermott International’s Altamira yard in Mexico has completed the 7,200-ton (6,532-metric ton) PB Litoral structure for client PEMEX.

In September, McDermott installed the jacket and tripod structures. Hookup, commissioning, and start-up are expected to be completed during 1Q 2016.

This year the company’s Construction Support Vessel 108 has finished much of its 2015 marine campaign for INPEX’s Ichthys project offshore northern Australia, and completed all inline structures for the pipelay at its yard in Batam, Indonesia.

At the Brunei Shell Petroleum project, the Derrick Barge 30, Emerald Sea, and various supporting vessels have this year installed around 4 mi (6.4 km) of corrosion- resistant alloy pipe, 16 mi (26 km) of carbon steel pipe, and 3 mi (4.8 km) of umbilical.

Pre-commissioning and tie-in activities are also under way.
