STOCKHOLM, Sweden – Lundin Petroleum says the semisubmersible Island Innovator has spudded exploration well 6407/10-4 on the Lorry prospect in the Norwegian Sea.

The location is in license PL700, on the northern part of the Frøya High and roughly 17 km (10.6 mi) northeast of the VNG Norge-operated Pil and Bue discoveries in the Halten Terrace.

Lorry could hold resources of 151 MMboe in Upper Jurassic sandstone. Planned TD is around 3,104 m (10,184 ft) below mean sea level. Drilling is expected to last around 60 days.

Lundin’s partners are Bayerngas Norge, GDF SUEZ E&P Norge, and VNG Norge.
