Iran could draw foreign companies into deepwater Caspian E&P

TEHRAN, Iran – Iran will issue details of four projects related to oil fields in the southern Caspian Sea later this month.

Ali Osuli, managing director of Khazar Exploration and Production Co., told news service Shana: “Four exploration, production, and development projects, including development of Sardar Jangal field will be introduced to participants of the upcoming Iran Petroleum Contracts conference” (in Tehran on Nov. 28-29).

Two will be exploration-focused; the other two will concerns production and development of discovered fields.

Iran needs assistance with deepwater drilling technology, according to Osuli. “We have to use the services of foreign companies in such projects.”
